Oxfordshire Family Mediation has a team of 9 mediators, all from professional backgrounds. The mediators are fully accredited by the Legal Services Commission and have undergone around 2 years traineeship (working alongside an experienced mediator) after completing the mediation core training programme. Mediators attend monthly casework meetings, have regular one-to-one supervision and complete annual CPD points.

Family mediation enables separating partners to decide on future arrangements for themselves. Mediators never take sides or pressurise people to make decisions: mediation gives people a step by step process for putting their views, being heard, making sure they have all the information they need and thinking through all options in a structured way.

Mediation helps keep conversations on track, so that everyone's needs can be taken into account and decisions can be made about the most practical and managaeable way forward.
